Indian Institute of Technology to launch courses on blockchain, NFT and Web3

The Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) will collaborate with online learning platform TimesPro to create educational programmes on blockchain, cryptocurrencies, NFT and Web3. TimesPro executive director Anish Srikrishna said the platform is interested in creating next-generation courses. These will focus on distributed ledger technology (DLT), non-exchangeable tokens (NFT), meta universe, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, cloud computing and digital assets in general. To do this, the platform is partnering with leading educational institutions, including IITs. Industry organisations India Blockchain Alliance (IBA) and iHub Divyasampark will partner with the new courses. Upon completion of the courses, students will be given certificates confirming the knowledge acquired. They will also have the opportunity to network with participants in the cryptocurrency industry. Srikrishna added that this initiative will help thousands of Indian citizens learn innovative skills. This will help create new jobs in India, without the need for foreign professionals. Note that in 2020, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Kolkata in association with TalentSpirit platform also launched a training programme in blockchain and financial management. In August, a group of blockchain experts announced the creation of the India Blockchain Forum (IBF) to make India an international hub for blockchain and Web3 development, despite tighter regulation of cryptocurrencies in the country. A few years ago, the Indian Institute of Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) unveiled a plan for mass adoption of blockchain in the banking sector.
